Holiday Reading Challenge

During the holidays all current year 7 and 8 students are expected to read at least 600 pages from a variety of reading books of your own choice.

The challenge was created to ensure that students continued the good practical of reading that you have developed during term time.

During periods of time when students are not at school the National Literacy Trust research has shown that children who read outside the classroom everyday are more likely to read above the expected level for their age compared to children who never read outside class.

Research shows that the earlier parents become involved in their child's literacy habits it will have a longer lasting affect on their understanding of language and ability to express themselves.
