Letters to parents for the Year 8 end of school trip to Southend Adventure Island have been given out during tutor time on Monday 21st January. Please ensure your child returns the slip confirming their attendance and advising us of any medical conditions as soon as possible in an envelope with the correct money to the front office.

YEAR 8 NEWS

Year 8s have been very busy this half term with many activities. During Monday registration we have been completing a range of activities and learnt new things about our world. Next term the year 8's will be completing a group project with the outcome of a book. Ask your child about this...

Tuesday afternoon we have our group reading sessions. Each class has been reading a book with their form tutors. This is helping all students to read aloud to groups of people, and will also help to prepare them for their GCSEs. The groups have been reading the following books

8K - Naughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman

8E - Parent Agency by David Baddiel

8L - Lord of the Flies by William Golding

8M - Wonder by R.J Palacio

8S - Lottery Boy by Michael Bryne

8C - Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson

Students have written a small book review which will be stuck into the books to give extra information to any student wanting to also read these books. Well done year 8's, super reading.
