Dear Parents/Carers
I hope this letter finds you and your families well; here is a Friday update for you as we finish the second week of the new school year. Things continue to be very positive here in school with all year groups continuing to impress as they did last week.
A group of thirty Year 11's thoroughly enjoyed their visit to see the infamous Birling Family come to life in Stephen Daldry's production on An Inspector Calls at the Alexandra Palace theatre on Tuesday evening. A fantastic start to our co-curricular opportunities for this year.
The PE department had a phenomenal turnout for Year 7 boys and girls football trials on Monday and Tuesday this week, with sixty five students trying out over the two days. Well done year 7! We are excited about what we hope will be a successful season. We look forward to a packed week of sport ahead with Years 7, 8 and 9 all having their first football games of the season. Also next week, the Year 7 and 8 girls have had a special invitation to play in front of the Duke of Gloucester at Douglas Eyre sports ground. This will be a fantastic event showcasing the talent of girls football in the borough.

As our Year 11 students approach an exciting time of decision-making regarding their post-secondary education, we would like to keep you informed about some upcoming college open days which provide a fantastic opportunity for students to explore potential colleges, learn about different courses, and get a feel for the campus environment. College Open Day dates have been posted your child's Year 11 Google Classroom and can also be accessed directly on the College websites. Dates will be updated as and when they become available.
Next Thursday evening, 19th September, is the Year 11 Preparation for Excellence Evening, 5.30-6.30pm.
